Skiing in the Pyrénées!
Ski in the sunshine of Pyrenénés-Roussillon in the South of France. The ski resorts Font Romeu and Pyrénées 2000 boasts 3,000 hours of sunshine per year.
Pyrenees 2000 (altitude 1600 - 2200 metres) has 52 kms of alpine pistes, 80 kms cross country skiing and 460 snow-cannons securing snow during the season, which at this latitude usually is from Christmas through to the beginning of March.

Alpine skiing: 40 pistes: 16 green, 9 blue, 9 red and 6 black, accessed by 42 ski-lifts, giving 52 kilometres of pure pleasure.
Nordic skiing: Our area has been elected the Number 1 domain for cross country skiing in the Pyrenees. 9 green pistes, 8 blue, 6 red and 2 black pistes.
Family skiing: Pyrenees 2000 was awarded "Le Label Kid" in 1995 as the most family friendly ski resort in France. Facilities include 3 playgrounds, kindergarten for the age 2-6, ski-instruction, free ski pass for children under the age of 6, and 20% discount for those between 6 and 12.
Multi-activity holidays: For the best multi-activity holidays we recommend Village Catalan in Vernet-les-Bains, which is 50 minutes drive from the ski resorts and has a milder climate. Optional activities at Village Catalan include hiking, mountain-biking, caving, golf, tennis, museums, art and wine excursions, medieval villages and the Mediterranean.
